Class Assignment

Consult the assignment instructions from your instructor. Here are a few highlights:

 Topic

You have a lot of freedom in choosing a topic - Make sure you pick something that interest you. There are a few that are not allowed: gun control, abortion, marijuana, and gay marriage.

 Goal

Your goal is to explore and write an informative research paper.

 Length

Your paper is to be 5-7 pages in length (not including your "Works Cited" page).

 Source

You are required to explore and cite at least 6-10 authoritative sources - only two may be found on the open web through a search engine like Google. You are not to use Wikipedia, wikis, encyclopedias or dictionaries.

 Citation

Use MLA style guidelines to give credit to your sources in the body of your paper and with a full citation on the "Works Cited" page. See examples on the MLA Style tab of this guide.
