Excerpts from your Assignment Pertaining to Research

The purpose of this assignment is to research and further your knowledge of the history, services/programs and opportunities offered at a four-year college institution. Students will be assigned to a group in class and will be able to select a four-year college institution.

Brief History

Provide a brief overview of the historical background of the institution, such as:

  • Location of the institution
  • Year the institution was founded 
  • The university's growth and development- how much has it grown since it first opened, do they have extension campuses, etc?
  • Notable alumni  


  • Co-ed, male, female
  • Public or Private?
  • Semester or quarter system?
  • What are demographics of the institution?
  • Total enrollment and size of the campus

  • Minimum admissions G.P.A.
  • Percent of applicants accepted
