ENGWR 300 - Professor McQueen (Fall 2020): Welcome!

Martee Squire

Hello Class!  My name is Martee Squire, and I designed this guide to help you with your ENGWR 300 research assignment.

One of the most important resources that can make your research process easier and faster is a librarian. Okay, I know I biased, but hear me out. :)

I and all the other ARC librarians are here to help you with your research. We want you to ask us questions! So, if any questions pop up with this, or any other research assignment you're working on, please ask us. We're happy to help! Find out all the ways you can contact an ARC Librarian on this page.

Please feel free to email me directly at: You can also find me in the Discussion section of you class in the Ask A Librarian discussion board.

Last but not least, if you are new to the research process, or if you'd like to brush up on your research skills, I recommend going through the What is Research Tutorial and the Getting Started with Research Tutorial

Happy Searching!

Library Tutorials

If you are unfamiliar with the research process or want to brush up on your skills, please complete the Library's What is Research Tutorial and the Getting Started with Research Tutorial.  Each of these tutorials will take 15-30 minutes to complete.  You can also receive a certificate of complete if you score 75% or higher!

NOTE:  To login from off-campus, you will need your eServices username (w+student ID) and password.

Research Appointments

Research Appointments

You don't have to make a Research Appointment to get help from a librarian, but there are benefits to making one:

  • Receive one-on-one help from a librarian for up to 50 minutes.
  • Learn to create a research strategy (select and refine a topic).
  • Get help finding sources for your assignment (scholarly, peer reviewed, books and more!).
  • Get resources for citing your sources (MLA, APA, etc).

To get started, click on the Research Appointments icon above.
