OneSearch Tips

Here are some OneSearch Search Tips for this Assignment:

  1. Search using the title of the novel and the author's last name.

Example: Beloved Morrison

  1. Try adding one of the terms below to either the author's name or title to get more specific results:

Analysis, Criticism, Interpretation, Slavery, Trauma, Mental Health, Memory, Family, Healing

Example: Toni Morrison criticism

  1. Parentheses(): Use around keywords with OR to expand your search. This helps you find results with any of the listed terms.

Example: Beloved Morrison (analysis OR criticism)

This searches for combinations like 'Beloved Morrison analysis' and 'Beloved Morrison criticism' —all in one search.

Example searches using the tips above:

  1. Beloved Toni Morrison
  2. Beloved Morrison (analysis OR criticism)
  3. Beloved Morrison Freud*
  4. Beloved Morrison (slavery OR trauma)
  5. Beloved Morrison (heal* OR famil*)

Remember to take advantage of the limiters on the left of your search results to ensure you are getting current resources that you can access!
