One of the primary advantages of using the library catalog and databases is the fact that the sources you find are virtually guaranteed to be credible/reliable/scholarly, but there are some other tools that will help your research that you can't get on Google.
1) Look for the icon or link that will let you EMAIL articles to yourself. I suggest emailing ANY article you think you might use.
2) Look for the icon or link that will generate a citation for your source. Do pay close attention to formatting and edition!
3) Skim the abstract or summary of articles during the initial research phase instead of reading the entire thing!
