  • Citation allows people to see where you found your information and locate those sources for themselves.
  • Attention to detail is important; spacing, indentation, punctuation, italics and spelling are all important when you create your APA citations.
  • In your paper, you need to cite specific information, direct quotations and ideas you are borrowing from others. If you don't, you might be found to be plagiarizing.
  • Don't plagiarize.
