You won't find information about local issues, but you can read about the issue as a whole -- for example, you won't find an article about homelessness in Sacramento, but you WILL find articles about homelessness in general.

Tips:

• Use CQ to get background info on the broader issue. You will not find local information in this database.
  
  
• Don't get too specific with your search terms. For example, try "homelessness" instead of something like "mentally ill homeless veterans"

In OneSearch, you'll find newspaper, magazine, and academic journal articles on a wide variety of topics. You can also find both print books and e-books. You *might* be able to find a few articles about local issues, but more likely, you'll be using this database to gain a better understanding of the issue as a whole.
