Research Databases

Use the research databases to find articles in newspapers, magazines, and scholarly journals. The following databases are good for researching literature.

OneSearch
Located in the "General" category, OneSearch will use your keywords to find books, media, and articles--all by just using one search!
Literary Reference Center Plus
Located in the "Literature" category, this database contains journal and magazine articles, essays from books, biographies, entries from reference books, and more.
Salem Literature
Located in the "Reference" category, this database includes in-depth essays that analyze various themes in the novel such as realism, irony and moral development, and American boyhood.

The Library has access to a variety of journals. Use the links below to check if a journal is in one of our databases or in hardcopy at the library.

Periodical Finder
Use the Periodical Finder to determine if a periodical is located in one of our databases.
Library Catalog
Use the Catalog to see if the hardcopy is available in one of the Los Rios Libraries. Select Periodical Search from the navigation menu. Type in the title of the periodical (not the title of the article).
