Student Library Employment

The ARC Library hires student workers to assist with circulation, the computer lab, and technical services.

Tasks range from shelving materials and helping with basic computer questions to preparing physical items for the collection.

Libraries rely on technology professionals to design, manage, and improve digital services.
Common roles include:

  • Systems Librarian / Discovery Services – manage library platforms like Alma/Primo and authentication systems
  • UX Designer / Web Services Librarian – improve website usability and accessibility
  • Electronic Resources or Data Services Librarian – handle licensing, analytics, and API integrations

These positions require an ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent experience.
