The Stonewall Book Awards, sponsored by the American Library Association's Rainbow Round Table, are the "first and most enduring awards for LGBTQIA+ books." Since 1971, it has been given to books in English published in the United States with " exceptional merit relating to the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender experience." Originally given as a single award for all LGBTQ+ books, current categories include the Barbara Gittings Literature Award, the Israel Fishman Non-Fiction Award, and the Mike Morgan & Larry Romans Children’s & Young Adult Literature Award.
